Your first run

This page takes you from an empty LeanBot to a ship flying by itself. Do the steps in order.

Step 1: add your DarkOrbit account

  1. At the top of the window, click Accounts.
  2. In the Add an account box, type your DarkOrbit username (1) and password (2). These are the same ones you use on darkorbit.com.
  3. If you like, give it a label (3) such as "main" so you can tell your accounts apart.
  4. Press Test login (4). LeanBot signs in once to check the password works.
  5. Press Save (5).

Good to know

Your password is saved encrypted on your PC. It never goes anywhere except darkorbit.com.

darkorbit.com asks for a captcha? That happens sometimes. See Accounts → Captcha.

Step 2: running more than one account? Add proxies first

If you only run one account, skip this step.

If you run several, give them proxies before you start them. Accounts that all come from the same internet address are easy for the game to link together, and when one is banned, the others often go with it. LeanBot allows at most five on one address. Proxies explains how.

Step 3: choose what the ship should do

What the ship does is called a module. The first time, use Kill & Collect: it kills NPCs and collects boxes on the map it is on.

  1. Click Dashboard. Your account has a card.
  2. Click the little arrow ↗ on the card (Show this account on the map). You are now on that account's map page.
  3. Next to Module at the top, pick Kill & Collect (2).

Every account also has a config (1): the set of settings it uses. A new account starts on the config called default, which is fine for now. Configs explains them when you are ready.

Step 4: tell it which NPCs to kill

Careful

LeanBot attacks nothing until you say so. Every NPC starts switched off, so a new config only collects boxes. This is on purpose: it would rather do nothing than attack something that kills your ship.

The NPC list fills itself: every NPC the ship sees is added to it. So:

  1. Start the account once (step 5) and let it fly for a minute on the map you want to work on.
  2. Open the Config tab of the account, then NPC killer.
  3. Switch on Kill for the NPCs you want. Leave big ones you can't handle switched off.

Step 5: press start

On the Dashboard, press ▶ on the account's card (Log in and start playing), or Start 1 (the number is how many) at the top to start every account.

That's it. The card shows the ship's health and what it is doing. Click ↗ to watch it on the live map.

Tip

Want it to start by itself? The ⟳ button on the card is Autostart: the account starts whenever LeanBot opens.
