Guide/Settings

Global configurations

Say you have five configs and you want the same Auto shop shopping list in all of them. Instead of setting it up five times, set it up once as a global configuration and every config uses it.

The Global screen

How it works

  • A global configuration holds behaviours with their settings, for example Auto shop and Auto dispatch.
  • A config keeps using its own settings for a behaviour until you switch off Use local configuration for that behaviour in the config, or press Use in all configs on the Global screen.
  • Change the global one, and every config that uses it changes too. Whether the behaviour is switched on also comes from the global one then.

Make one

  1. Click Global at the top.
  2. Type a name under New global configuration and press New.
  3. Who it is for: All accounts, or Only some. Pick groups (from the Dashboard) or single accounts.
  4. What is in it: add the behaviours you want and set them up with the gear button.
  5. Use in all configs makes every config read these behaviours from here. Use in none gives every config its own settings back.
Good to know

Who wins? An account picked by name beats a group, and a group beats All accounts.

Use your own settings in one config

Every behaviour in a config has a Use local configuration switch at the top:

  • Off: the config uses the global configuration.
  • On: the config uses its own settings for that behaviour.

The other way round works too: open a behaviour in a config, set it up, and switch off Use local configuration. If no global configuration for everybody holds that behaviour yet, your settings are copied into one. If one already does, the config simply starts using that one, and your settings are not copied.

One account, its own values

On an account's own config screen, a change to a behaviour that a global configuration runs is saved for that account only, and it wins over the global configuration: editing the global one no longer changes that setting for that account.

Such a behaviour shows Overridden (in purple) instead of Global, with how many settings are the account's own. Each of those settings has a ⤺ button: press it to take the global configuration's value back, or Follow at the top to take them all back.

Deleting one

Deleting a global configuration is safe: configs that used it go back to their own settings, which were never changed.
