Accounts
The Accounts screen holds your DarkOrbit logins. LeanBot signs in to darkorbit.com the same way the game does, so it needs your real username and password.
Add an account
- Type the username (1) and password (2) you use on darkorbit.com.
- Optional: a label (3) like "main" or "mining alt". It's only for you.
- Press Test login (4) to check the password works. LeanBot signs in once and tells you if it worked.
- Press Save (5).
No password? Leave it empty and paste a session in the Session field instead: the game's address (URL), its dosid, or gbl1 <dosid>. The account is saved without a password and plays on that session; when the session ends, paste a new one.
Passwords are stored encrypted with Windows' own protection, in the data folder next to LeanBot. Another Windows user on the same PC, or anyone who copies the file to another PC, can't read them.
Your saved accounts
Each saved account is a row. You can change these straight from the list:

At the end of each row: Edit (change the password or label), Forget session (throw away the saved login so the next start signs in again) and Delete.
When darkorbit.com asks for a captcha
Sometimes darkorbit.com wants a captcha before it lets an account in. LeanBot stops trying with the password until you help, so it doesn't make things worse.
- Press Captcha… on the account's row.
- Under Solve it here, press Open the login page. The darkorbit.com login page appears inside LeanBot, with the username and password already filled in.
- Answer the captcha and press Login on that page.
- Press Take this session. Done: the account can start again.
Several accounts waiting for one? Press Solve all captchas at the top of the Saved list: it opens each of them in turn.
On a phone? The login page is a picture: tap where you want to type, then use the Text to type into the page box under it.
Or paste a session
Already logged in somewhere else, like in your browser? You can give LeanBot that login instead:
- Close the game there first. One login can't play in two places.
- Under Paste a session, paste the game's address (URL) or its
dosid. - Press Use this session.
Rules it always follows when logging in
- Password logins are at least a minute apart for each account. After a failed one, the wait doubles each time, up to 30 minutes.
- When darkorbit.com asks for a captcha, the password is not sent again until you solve it (above).
- Saved passwords only work on the same PC and Windows user that saved them. On a new PC, type them again.
- A dropped connection is retried every 5 seconds, for as long as it takes, to the map the ship was on.
- When the game has been updated and LeanBot hasn't caught up yet, it waits for the update instead of trying again and again.
- An in-game box captcha gets 90 seconds. If it isn't solved by then, LeanBot logs in again to get a new one.
Starting an account
Accounts are started from the Dashboard with the ▶ button on their card.
Don't log in to an account in the game while LeanBot is running it. One account can only play in one place, so the two will keep kicking each other out. Stop it in LeanBot first.
