The live map
Each account has a live map that shows exactly what the ship sees: itself, NPCs, players, boxes and portals. Open it with ↗ on the account's card, or the Map tab.
The controls at the top
| Control | What it does | |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Config | Which config this account flies. |
| 2 | Module | What the ship should be doing. Changing it takes effect straight away. |
| 3 | Start | Logs the account in. When it's running, this row shows Pause / Resume and Stop instead. |
| 4 | Edit zones | Paint areas on this map to work in or stay away from. Works once the account is started and on that map. Zones |
The Module settings tab (5) is in the panel on the right.
Before you start: the ship lobby
While the account is logged out, the map shows its ships one at a time, as the game's lobby does. Use ‹ and › to look through them; the ship you fly comes first.
- Fly this ship makes it the ship you log in with. The bot logs the account out properly first if it has to, so this works wherever the ship was left. The account logs in on the map where that ship is parked.
- Start logs in as usual.
The website allows one hangar action every few seconds, so a switch can take a little while.
While it's running
- Your ship is the green dot. NPCs are red, other players are blue, boxes are small dots. Portals are purple; galaxy gates and event gates are amber.
- A ring around an NPC means it's the selected target.
- The line in front of your ship is the path it is flying.
The panel on the right has three tabs:
- Debug: the map name, your ship (name, where it's going), what's around you (NPCs, players, boxes, portals), the nearest things, and the log: the latest lines of what the bot is doing and why. Hull and shield are shown on the map itself.
- Module settings: the current module's settings. Change them while it flies.
- Zones: the areas painted on this map.
Wondering why the ship does something? Read the log in the Debug tab first. It says what the bot decided and why, for example "Repairing: hull 31%".
The game's windows
The row of small icons in the top-left corner of the map opens the game's own windows: the shop, the auction house, boosters, the season pass, the logbook, the skylab, the clan, and many more. They work like in the game, so you can buy, bid or claim rewards without the game client.
Game view (beta)
Game view at the top of the map opens the account in the real game client, in Adobe's Flash Player on your own computer. It shows what the bot is doing, and you can steer it like the game: click to fly, click an NPC to select it, double-click to fire, click a box to collect it. A running module takes over again on its next step, so pause the bot first if you want to fly yourself.
- In the LeanBot window, or a browser on the same computer as the bot, Flash Player opens straight away. The first time, LeanBot downloads it for you (16 MB).
- From another computer, the first time, the page that opens has a Windows setup (right-click it, Run with PowerShell) and a Linux setup. It installs Flash Player in your user folder and lets it open this bot's game view; run it once for each bot you use. Then press Open game view again.
- The LB tab in the client opens LeanBot's own panel: pause and resume the bot, stop attacking, and the PvP assist, which locks and fires on enemy players while you fly. It never moves the ship.
- The client's shop and hangar buttons open LeanBot's shop and hangar inside the game view.
- No Flash Player on this computer? The page also offers to play in the browser, which is much slower.
Changing what is drawn
Too busy? Settings → Map layers in the top bar switches each kind of thing on the map on or off: the grid, boxes, ships (NPCs and players), the path, and more.
