Community configs
The Community tab is where players share their configs. Find one that does the job you want, install it, and fly it. Nothing there is bought or sold.
You need to be signed in to install, rate or share. Browsing works without it.
Install a config
Open Community, find a config (search by name, tag or author) and open it. Then choose how to install it:
- Subscribe: the config follows its author's updates. Whatever you change in it stays yours (see below), and you see every update before it changes anything.
- Copy: the config becomes yours. It never changes unless you change it.
Give it a name if you want, and press Subscribe or Install copy. It appears in Saved configs like any other config, and you pick it for an account the usual way.
Settings the author asks you to set yourself
Some settings depend on your account, not on the job: the lasers and rockets you own, your drone formations, your ship. The author can mark these set your own. When you subscribe, you choose a config of yours to take them from. Updates never change them.
Updates keep what you made yours
When the author shares a new version, Community shows it under Installed, and the tab shows a number.
LeanBot compares three things: the version you had, your config now, and the new version. So:
- A setting you never touched takes the author's new value.
- A setting you changed stays yours.
- A setting you keep stays yours, whatever the author does.
Press Review update to see every change before it applies: what it was, what you have, what's new. You can pick New or Mine on any row, or press the lock to keep that setting yours from now on. Your config is saved first, so Undo an update on Installed puts it back.
Keep a setting before you change it
Open the subscribed config in Saved configs: every setting has a small lock at the end of its row. Press it, and updates from the author leave that setting as it is.
On Installed, What it keeps does the same for anything in the config: a whole feature, a single NPC row, or a table. LeanBot also lists the settings most other subscribers keep, so you can keep them too with one press.
Lists, like the items the auto shop buys or the assembly crafts, merge item by item: an item the author adds arrives, and an item you changed stays yours. An update that adds, removes or switches off an item counts as switching something, so it never applies by itself.
Automatic updates
Switch on Update automatically and updates apply by themselves. There are two exceptions:
- An update that switches something on or off, or adds a feature, always waits for you.
- An update waits until every account flying the config can stop cleanly, for example at the end of a gate.
LeanBot checks for updates every few hours.
An update moves the accounts flying that config onto the new settings straight away. Their job starts again, the same as when you pick another config.
Rate a config
Once your accounts have flown a config for a while, you can give it 1 to 5 stars and a few words, on its page. You can change your rating any time. You can't rate your own config.
The best-rated configs come first. A config with one 5-star rating doesn't outrank one that a hundred players rated 4.6.
Something wrong with a config? Use Report this config on its page and an admin will look at it.
Share your config
Sharing needs the Config creator role on the LeanBot Discord. Ask for it there.
- Open Community → Share and pick your config.
- Give it a title, one line about it, a description (what it needs, where it flies, what it earns) and tags.
- Mark the settings each player should set for themselves: lasers, formations, anything that depends on what the account owns.
- Press Share.
Rewards
Creators are rewarded now and then from a pool, paid into their wallet on the LeanBot website. What counts is how many other players fly your configs for an hour or more, weighted by how they rate them. Your own accounts don't count, and neither do brand-new Discord accounts. Share shows how many players counted for you in the last 30 days, and every reward you received.
Share a new version
To share an improvement later, edit your config as usual, then on Installed press Share a new version and say what changed. Subscribers see your note before they update.
What you share is the config itself. Your accounts, passwords and proxies are never in it, and the players named in your tags are left out.
A config you follow from someone else can't be shared as yours. Press Stop following first: it becomes your own config, and you can share it.
